With so many options out there, it can be overwhelming—and let’s be honest, I don’t want to spend a fortune on a spelling curriculum when there are simple, free solutions available. These flash cards are a fantastic tool to make spelling practice engaging and interactive. To use them, simply call out the words and have your child spell them out loud, “spelling bee style.” This not only reinforces their auditory and verbal skills but also helps them build confidence as they learn. If your little one struggles with a word, don’t worry! I have them write that word five times for their copywork for the day. This repetition helps solidify their understanding and retention of the word.

I typically introduce about 5-10 words at a time, 1-2 times per week, which keeps the learning manageable and fun. Once your child has mastered a word, you can easily move on to the next one, allowing them to progress at their own pace.
